Smith White

Squad Coach: James McMeekin

Swimmers move to the club's Smith White squad after completing a period of time in an entry level squad or from Swim Easy (though we also take swimmers from the Edinburgh Leisure scheme or other miscellaneous sources). Swimmers in this squad will be between 9 and 10 years old. The squad is named after Warrender swimmer Lewis Smith who represented Great Britian at various competitions. This squad, which is made up of 25 swimmers, will do between 4-5 sessions per week (a total of 5 hours).

This squad is coached by James McMeekin.

James came to Warrender after several years working with SwimEasy. He joined SwimEasy when he came to study in Edinburgh and hasn't been able to leave even though he holds a full time career elsewhere. James is dedicated to passing on his passion for swimming and water sports to others, whether this be training the next SwimEasy teacher or now coaching with Warrender. James' career revolves around children - he currently manages a children's education centre, Explore Learning, alongside his swimming commitments. He is dedicated to opening opportunities, supporting and helping children build confidence and develop their skills for the future. James feels his educational background coupled with his technical swimming knowledge helps him to foster an environment that will create motivated and talented swimmers.
