Club Championships
Warrender runs its own internal club championships once every year to determine the best swimmers within the club across the full spectrum of events and age groups. The Championships usually take place across a number of days in late September and early October each year. Swimmers race against their peers for medals, points, trophies and even some cash prizes for accumulated results. Trophies are awarded from club championship results to the top swimmers in each age category and presented at the annual club presentation night in late November, or early December each year.
2010 Club Championships
The 2010 Club Championships have now been completed and once again were a huge success. More than 250 swimmers took part in the meet, held over four days at Ainslie Park Leisure Centre. It is fantastic for the Club to be able to run an internal gala of this standard, where every event in the Olympic schedule is available to the swimmers across the duration of the championships. Thank you to every volunteer, parent, coach and swimmer who made the Championships a success! Results from the Club Championships can be viewed in the Members section of this website, along with the overall Top 3 in each Age Group.
2008 Club Championships
The 2008 Club Championships have been completed. No less than 230 swimmers took part in the meet, over the four days of action, a new record number for the club. Once again, it was great to see so many young swimmers competing alongside numerous junior and senior international swimmers. Very few clubs throughout Britain can offer such a service. It was also very nice to see some of our Masters swimmers take part. This is something we warmly welcome and hope that a larger group of the Masters swimmers will race next year. Full results have now been published in the Members section of this website.
2007 Club Championships
The 2007 Warrender Club Championships have now concluded after four days of high octane action spread over two weeks. The meet was unique among swimming competitions in that it afforded young development swimmers who have just finished swimming lessons to warm-up alongside, and compete in the same events as established senior international swimmers such as Commonwealth Games swimmer Fiona Booth and Great Britain representative Lewis Smith. No other meets in the country enable this to happen and it is great inspiration for everyone concerned. It is also much bigger than most other club's internal events with this year seeing over 215 swimmers taking part, some swimming all the events on the FINA programme from stroke 50's to the 1500 freestyle. Full results will be published on this site shortly.
