Facilities

Although many years ago the club used to be solely based at Warrender Baths on Thirlestane Road, today Warrender makes use of numerous facilities all over the wonderful capital city of Edinburgh.

Demands on swimming facilities in the modern world are very high with requests for use coming from a whole host of different user groups as well as the general public.  In addition, many current day pools are nearing the end of their useful shelf life and in serious need of refurbishment.  In fact it has become common in recent years for several pools to close down completely due to high running costs and forever tighter health and safety restrictions.

Like almost every other swimming club in Britain, Warrender faces a constant battle for pool time.  We consistently endeavour to obtain the very best pool time available for our swimmers, and we like to think that this shows well in the results our swimmers obtain in competitions.

It is not always possible to provide every member with the ideal training arrangements that suit their particular lifestyle.  However, we always try to make a balanced decision taking into account all factors, aiming to ensure that the needs of the majority are well catered for throughout each training week.

For more details of the pools that we use, please see the Venues page in the Training section of this site.
