Warrender Swimming

Club Management

Warrender operates on a non-for-profit basis and is managed and run by an Management Committee and several coaching staff.  The Management Committee meet on a monthy basis and members can receive a copy of the minutes of these meetings by contacting the Honorary Secretary. We remain one of only a very small number of clubs in Scotland to employ a full-time Head Coach and this undoubtedly pays dividends with successful results.

Our annual turnover exceeds £100,000 which is controlled through well managed budgets for each section of the club.  Any surplus we do accrue is always re-invested in the club for the benefit of the swimmers.

We are a competitive swimming club with one of our prime objectives being to develop and train swimmers to reach their full potential within the wonderful sport of swimming.  From young developing children, to senior international athletes, Warrender is the place to be!

Do you have an issue you wish to resolve?

Warrender Baths Club operates a policy of open communication between coaches, swimmers and parents. If any swimmer or parent has a concern, then in the first instance, they should approach their coach. They will be only too happy to discuss any concerns that you may have. We would ask that you approach them either before or after a training session, or arrange a mutually convenient time to meet with them as we do not want to disrupt any training session.
We understand that in some circumstances swimmers or parents may be reluctant to approach the coach direct, especially if the concern is regarding the coach. However it is important that such concerns are raised with them in the first instance as they are more than likely the best person to resolve the issue before it escalates. They can be contacted in the first instance by email if it is easier.
We aim to resolve all issues in this way as open dialogue is the best way to prevent an issue escalating into a complaint. However if after speaking to the coach, the issue is not resolved then Warrender Baths Club will offer a conciliation service before going down the formal complaint procedure.
You can raise your issue informally by speaking initially with the club president or secretary. It is hoped that many issues can be resolved through conciliation without going to a formal complaint’s process. Scottish Swimming has advised that they would be happy to help with a conciliation process and we will approach them for help if needed.
If after speaking to the coach and going though the conciliation process you are still not happy then you can write or speak to the club secretary to advise him or her of the nature of your complaint and request a copy of the club’s formal Complaints Procedure.
The club secretary will provide you with a copy of the form and guidelines for submitting a complaint. The correct form must be obtained and submitted within 14 days of the incident or issue arising or the informal procedure completed.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome you will have the right to appeal to SASA but only after our internal Complaints procedure has been exhausted.
It should be noted that Warrender Baths Club Executive will deal with complaints within the timescales recommended by SASA
