Warrender Storm to National TitleWarrender have been crowned Top Club at the Scottish National Open Championships which concluded in Glasgow yesterday. Numerous superb performances over the four days of action enabled the Edinburgh club to run away with the National title by over 200 points.
Key among the team success were several relay victories, including new Scottish National Club Team Records in the Women's 4 x 100 and 4 x 200 Freestyle events. Fiona Booth, Sally Wood, Nicole Wilson and Katelyn Stewart combined for the 4 x 100 win, with Helen McRoberts replacing Katelyn for the 4 x 200 success.
The club also secured 1-2 placings in the men's IM events. Lewis Smith and Billy Purnell took gold and silver in the 200 IM whilst, Billy and Andrew Haslett did likewise in the 400 IM. Other impressive swims included Scottish senior gold squad consideration times from Craig Hamilton in the 800 Free (8:21) and Sally Wood in the 200 IM (2:19.63).
