Carnegie lead after day one as Warrender Meet gets underwayWarrender's annual Junior Age Group Meet got underway in Dunfermline today with swimmers aged 8-10 coming together from all over Scotland to compete against each other. Swimmers are able to contest six events throughout the day: 50m of each stroke, plus 100 I.M. and 200 Freestyle. The whole event ran very smoothly and was supported by Lloyds TSB Scotland, marking the start of the club's new sponsorship deal with the bank.
Debbie McIntyre from Lloyds TSB Scotland's Marketing Team was on hand to present medals and trophies to the winning swimmers and commented that it had been a great day: "I've really enjoyed being involved in the competition today, and it's great to see our company being able to successfully link up with a local club and youth sport in this way. Being one of the primary sponsors of the London 2012 Olympics is very important to Lloyds TSB Scotland and who knows, perhaps we have seen some future Olympians in the pool today!"
The Dunfermline based club Carnegie lead the club points rankings after day one following a series of excellent swims from some of their leading young swimmers. Duns were not far behind in second, with host club Warrender lying third. The meet continues Sunday with events for 11 and 12 year old swimmers.
