The annual veteran's water polo tournament took place on Saturday 2nd February at Galashiels. This is played between Galashiels, Portobello and Warrender for the Charlie Grierson Trophy.  Warrender managed to scrape together 7 players, Ali Ramm, Keith Johnston, Ian McCallum, Ross McCallum, Robert Heatly, Rob Bagan and Ally MacGregor.  The first game between Galashiels and Portobello went 4-3 in Gala's favour. Warrender then took on Portobello and after a hard fought game Warrender came out on top 3-2.  In the final game between Warrender and Gala it was nip and tuck all the way and with of 4 of our 1985 Scottish Cup winning team still showing their class helped Warrender to a 2-2 half time score.  The final period was again very tight with Warrenders defence giving nothing away and the final score of 3-2 to Warrender made sure that we retained the trophy won at Portobello the previous year.
