Johnston Begins 2012 Journey
21 Jan 2008

Warrender swimmer Ewan Johnston has begun a journey which he hopes will lead to the London 2012 Olympics after attending the British Swimming Launch Day for their 2012 Target Squad.  Already one of Scotland's best swimmers, Ewan has been named among 139 youth swimmers aged from 12-18 that Britain's swimming chiefs are aiming to fast-track towards the home Olympics.  The programme got underway with a day of introductions and talks for Ewan, his parents and his caoch Ian Wright in Nottingham at the weekend.  They heard about the Olympic experiences of Graeme Smith and Sharon Davies, underwent some goal setting stragies and learnt about nutrition for elite swimmers.  Later in the year all those on the 2012 programme will travel overseas for a warm weather training camp.  We wish Ewan all the best on his Olympic quest!
