Warrender swimmers in action at UK School GamesFour Warrender swimmers were in action at the second UK School Games, held in Coventry, England from 25-26 August 2007. Representing their school through the Scotland South & East regional team, Helen McRoberts, Emily McQueen, Ross Woolley and Craig Hamilton were all part of the exciting festival of youth sport. Aimed at giving youth athletes an introduction to what life is like at a major multi-sport event, the weekend was more about gaining valuable experience than fast times, especially as the swimmers had only just returned from their annual summer break leaving them somewhat unfit! We congratulate these four athletes on their participation in the event and hope that it will have inspired them to focus on events like London 2012 and Glasgow 2014.
Rosie Hood and Katelyn Stewart were also part of the originally selected team but had to withdraw through injury and other school commitments respectively. In addition, following Rosie's withdrawal Jennifer Dobson should have been chosen in her place but was unfortunately left out of the team due to a mistake by the Scottish Schools Association selection panel.
