Smith trains in Florida

GB Squad member Lewis Smith is currently spending two and a half weeks training with the University of Florida Gators swim team in Gainesville, Florida.  The trip, set up with the help of the Scottish Institute of Sport, will see Lewis training alongside mutiple world record holder and World and Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, as well as several other senior international swimmers.  Under the guidance of the team's Head Coach Gregg Troy and Assistant Coach Martyn Wilby, Lewis will undergo a rigorous training regime covering over 70,000m per week in the water, plus several land work sessions.  Warrender Head Coach Ian Wright will spend the first few days of Lewis's trip working with him and the University of Florida coaches before returning to Edinburgh next week.
