All Six Youth Relays Qualify for ASA NationalsThere was good news for Warrender this week when British Swimming announced the clubs which have qualified for the relay events at this summer's ASA Youth National Championships, to be held in Sheffield from 27 July to 1 August. For the first time ever, Warrender has qualified in all six of the possible relay events: the Boys 15-18 years 4x100 Freestyle, 4x200 Freestyle and 4x100 Medley Relay, plus the corresponding events for Girls aged 14-17. The fastest 20 teams from throughout Britain were selected following regional heats held during April and May.
The girls teams will likely be made up from Katelyn Stewart, Rosie Hood, Sally Wood and Helen McRoberts, although Jennifer Dobson, Emily McQueen and Claire Woolley will also be challenging for selection. And medal chances will be up for grabs as the girls go into the meet ranked the third fastest team in the 4x100 Freestyle, and fourth overall in the 4x200 event.
In the boys events, Billy Purnell, Ewan Johnston, Andrew Haslett, Craig Purnell, Ben Hui, Ross Woolley and Craig Hamilton will all challenge for final selection, and whoever makes it will have a great chance of reaching the podium in the 4x100 Medley team after the team qualified second fastest overall, just behind leaders Plymouth.
