Assistant Performance Squad Coach

Following the recent successes of our Club’s Performance Squad programme, the club is now in a position to establish a new and exciting position of ‘Assistant Performance Squad Coach’. The successful applicant will work alongside the Club’s Head Coach and other coaching staff members to deliver further ongoing successes for the Club on both the national and international stage.

Warrender Baths Club is Scotland’s leading and most successful swimming club. In 2011, Warrender won the Top Club Award at the Scottish Age Group Championships and placed more swimmers on National Squads than any other Scottish team. The boy’s team also placed 2nd at the British Youth Championships and the Club was represented on several British Swimming Teams and Squads.

The individual appointed will be responsible for assisting the Club Head Coach in the effective day-to-day operation and delivery of the Performance Squad programme, including leading the squad in the Head Coach’s absence.

The programme requires a highly motivated, creative and ambitious individual with a personal background in swimming and some experience of coaching at age group level or above. To fulfil the role you should be a good communicator, with the ability to develop sound relationships and to work closely with our partners and management committee to maximise the performance of swimmers throughout the programme.

In the first instance, the role is a temporary six month, part-time position, from November 1st to April 30th 2012. At the end of this term, the position will be reviewed and potentially carried forward in to a full time coaching position when, as is anticipated, access will be gained to the newly refurbished Royal Commonwealth Pool.
