Smith collects a trio of medals at ASA Championships
28 Jun 2011

Lewis Smith was on fine form at the recent British Gas ASA National Championships in Sheffield, where he picked up three medals over the four day meet. The Meet was stage 2 of the World Championship Trials, with the very best talent from around the country present.

Smith, who has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World University Games in China in August, picked up gold in the 400 Individual Medley (4:16.26), silver in the 200 Individual Medley (2:02.42) and bronze in the 400 Freestyle (3:52.27), all in season best times.

Also competing at the meet was Performance Squad member Craig McNally. McNally, who has been struck down by a virus over the past two months, was not at his best but still managed to take the bronze medal in the 50m Backstroke in 26.10, just outside the his lifetime best set in March.
