McNally, Smith and Fraser Named on Scottish Commonwealth Games Team
17 Aug 2010

Warrender swimmers Craig McNally, Lewis Smith and Sean Fraser have all been named on the 2010 Scottish Commonwealth Games Team. The 2010 Commonwealth Games are being held in Delhi, India, from 4-9th October. It will be the first time all three swimmers will have participated at the Commonwealth Games.

17 year old McNally will make his international debut at the Games, having been selected to the team to make up the Medley Relay, after winning the 100 Backstroke at the Scottish National Championships at the end of June. McNally has had a tremendous season to date, also winning the 200 Backstroke at the Scottish National Championships and recently taking gold in the 17/18 year age group at the ASA Youth Championships for the 100 Backstroke. He is currently the 17 year old Scottish Record holder for 50, 100 and 200 Backstroke.

Smith, now training at the Stirling ITC, but still representing Warrender as his home club, was selected to the team to swim the 400 Individual Medley. Smith took part in the 2009 FINA World Championships in Rome and is looking forward to swimming for Scotland at his first Commonwealth Games.

Sean Fraser, now training at the Manchester Disability High Performance Centre, will swim the multi-disability 100 Freestyle.

Warrender Baths Club is very proud to have all three boys on the team and we wish them all the very best of luck in Delhi.
