ASA National Age Group Championships 2010 - ReportIn his first year at the ASA National Age Group Championships, Junior National swimmer Daniel Lim, performed extremely well.
Having returned from Kuala Lumpur only two days prior to the start of the Championships, where he completed four weeks of challenging training, Lim managed to make it through to a final in his first event.
Equalling his lifetime best in the heats (2:36.20), Lim finished 11th but ended up with a swim in the final after a withdrawal. Suffering from some jetlag and an ear infection, Lim rallied well to swim the same time again in the final, finishing in 10th position (2:36.51).
In the 200 Individual Medley, Lim finished 12th overall in his second best time ever of 2:20.68. He undoubtably saved his best for last though, with the 100 Breaststroke on the second last day of the meet. Qualifying 9th for the finals, in a new personal best time of 1:11.67, Lim managed to then better both his ranking and his time in the final, finishing 7th in 1:11.49.
It has been a fantastic season in 2010 for Lim, his Coach, Kyle Goodfellow commending him on his hard work and commitment to swimming. 'Daniel is extremely commited to improving himself as a swimmer. He tries to follow my instructions as closely as he can, and has improved significantly in the training pool, which has been reflected in his performances over the past few months'.
