Day 2 -Benson breaks his own British Record

Day 2 of the British Championships continued with some good swims from many of the Warrender swimmers. The heats got underway with a solid swim from Dan Wallace in the 100 Breaststroke swimming a lifetime best of 1:08.44. Wallace was back in the pool 15 minutes later in the 200 IM where he broke the 15 year old Scottish Record to post an excellent time of 2:10.31, finishing 19th overall. Swimming the same two events Craig Benson broke his own 14 year old British Record on the 100 Breastroke posting a suberb time of 1:05.42 (his split of 30.92 also a new British Age Group Record) and finishing 20th overall. Benson went on to swim a 2:16.61 on the 200IM. Murray Lawrence was the last of the younger boys competing for places on the European Youth Olympic Team, swimming a 2:17.42 on the 200 IM.

Lewis Smith was back in action in the 200 IM, swimming a lifetime best of 2:02.86 in the heats and 2:02.48 in the semi's to go into the final in 1st position. In the same event Billy Purnell made it through to the final after a solid heat and semi final swims of 2:06.98 and 2:04.60 respectively. Andrew Haslett was the last of the Warrender medley swimmers posting a season best time of 2:08.04 to make it through to the semi finals, finishing with a personal best time of 2:07.09 to finish 13th overall.

In other swims on Day 2, Fiona Booth qualified through to the final of the 100 Breastroke after posting a personal best time of 1:11.79 in the semi's and Sean Fraser picked up a bronze medal in the MD 400 Free final in a time of 4:52.86. Craig Hamilton was back in the pool contesting the 200 Free where he managed a good time of 1:54.02 whilst his team mate Ewan Johnston finished 23rd with a 1:52.98.
