Fraser Wins Paralympic Bronze!

Warrender's Sean Fraser is celebrating today after claiming a bronze medal in the S8 100m Backstroke at the Paralympics in Beijing.  British Record holder Sean, qualified in 3rd place with a heat swim of 1:10.77.  He then backed this up in the final with a time of 1:11.28 to claim the podium position at his debut Games.  

Although slightly down on his personal best time, Fraser says of his achievement, "It's my first Paralympics, and I've got a medal, so I'm happy".  It was a fast final, with the winner Konstantin Lisenkov from Russian setting a new world record of 1:06.72.  Fraser went on to add, "I made tough goals for myself and this medal will keep me motivated for London 2012".

In other events this week Fraser finished 8th in the 100 Butterfly final in a time of 1:08.36 and 10th in the 100 Freestyle in a new lifetime best of 1:02.45. Sean's Paralympic campaign will conclude when he takes part in the S8 50 Freestyle on Sunday.
