Smith strikes gold in Canada! 4 Aug 2008
Warrender's Lewis Smith has won the gold medal in men's 400 IM at an international meet in Canada. Competing for Great Britain in a three way international contest against France and Canada last weekend, Lewis led from the front in his signature event to take the victory in a time of 4:19.42 ahead of Canadian Andrew Ford and team-mate Michael Jamieson. Lewis also placed 4th in the 200 IM in 2:04.45 to gain further valuable points and secure victory for the British team in this inaugural event.
Lewis and the rest of Warrender's National Squad now start a well earned three week break before returning to training for the 2008-09 season at the end of August.
